Our reunion committee is second to none, and our fearless leader (Mary, of course) could give lessons to Emily Post. Thank you to the committee and to everyone who attend the 51st; thank you for contributing to my treasure chest of memories, a prized possession. Already looking forward to next time.

Coach Bilik, advanced math and geometry teacher, witty and inspiring and my all-time favorite instructor, by a mile. Every day in his math class, I convulsed with deep, belly- laughs. He had pet names for every person--silly or ironic names, and not necessarily politically correct. He jumped high up and down to erase the blackboard. On the daily attendance sheet, he pretended to write, "Teacher: 'the best', Class: 'the worst.'" He informed us that his "kits" graded our tests by throwing them on the stairs. The ones landing on the highest step got the A's, and so on to the bottom step, the U's. Yet, in the midst of this hilarity, he superbly taught us geometry. He sure knew how to get and keep our attention.

Each day, near the end of the hour, he switched gears. Looking sincerely and intently at the class, he offered, "Remember, if you have any troubles, griefs, heartaches or sorrows, come see me, the Old Master--it's free."

I never took him up on it and wonder if anyone did.

I only received one bad grade in my entire life, and that was in 'conduct' in one class. Without naming names, the teacher was the father of a friend; and the father blamed me for his child's behavior (i.e. late hours). I would venture to say that this teacher hated me. However, I was not the negative influence with which I was being charged. I don't remember anyone offering me a jury trial.

Remember WHS book covers? I don't remember seeing those on the school tour.

There was a deli on Center Street, and we used to buy ham and rolls there, then retire to my old car parked on Sherman and play 3-handed sheepshead, using the back of the front seat for a table. For the life of me, I can't remember who the other two players were though.

I seem to remember that graduation night was extremely cold, not that we felt that much, since we were 'out'.

Remember some of the odd things we wore? I remember black loafers with white wedges on the sides, even some white lightening bolts! How about pants with buckles in the back, then newer models that had buckles on the side. And hair styles, the ultra cool DA's. Looking like that, it is a wonder the girls could keep their hands off us. Ha!

I had not attended prior reunions for a variety of reasons (none really valid). What a mistake that was! I had a grand ol' time at the 50th reunion during June 2013. I met old friends and gained some new ones. The reunion committee did a masterful job of putting everything together and made sure that each attendee felt like royalty. The memories resurrected and created continue to fill my days with pleasure, creating smiles that I can't stop. I truly hope that the committee continues to plan future reunions, as I will be the first to sign up each time.
